Dermal Fillers / Injectables

Dermal fillers can repair your skin’s youthful plump shape. They can be used to fill in from just above your eyes down to your chin. Ideal for getting rid of acne scars and craters in your face can be easily erased with injectables. Many people choose dermal fillers to ease bags underneath their eyes by having a cosmetic doctor add hyaluronic acid just above their cheeks. Big beautiful lips are not difficult to attain when you use a natural filler that binds with the water below your skin so dermal fillers are a good option.

There are 2 different types of fillers, both fillers are made of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a sugar that is naturally found in our bodies. Clients have a choice between injecting natural and synthetic fillers. Natural injectables usually last anywhere from 3 to 18 months and they require annual up-keep to maintain your desired, youthful look*. Synthetic treatments can last anywhere from one to five years*.

Juvéderm is a universally used soft tissue filler injection made out of “sugar gels”.  Sugar gels are repeating units of hyaluronic acid sugar and are the most commonly used typed of fillers across the globe. Fillers using sugar gels are effective as they are easily accepted by the body- even lasting as long as two years after injection.  Juvéderm requires no skin tests prior to use. This makes our sessions extremely efficient as we don’t have to wait for any approval by your doctor – making the process hassle free with a quick turnaround!

Injecting Juvéderm

The Juvéderm line boasts a series of products from the Juvéderm Voluma, Juvéderm Ultra Plus and the Juvéderm plus. The Voluma line is the largest product in the Juvéderm family and lasts up to four years. The Voluma product line is used for large fills such as contour restorations. Areas that are normally targeted for these restorations include the cheek arch, cheekbone, jawline, under the eyes and the temporal area. Often, Juvéderm is also used as a filler in the lips and can even help contour the nose. Injecting Juvéderm uses a special technique performed with a small micro-cannula. The cannula penetrates a layer of skin along the surface of the bones where the injections will take place. These injections will usually follow your deep lines, improving them in the process.

Is Juvéderm right for you?

Juvéderm sugar gel filler injections are a great option for anyone who has lost some volume in their facial features due to age. Individuals who have deep lines and furrows should also consider if the Juvéderm procedure is right for them. Individuals who are also looking to have cosmetic surgery can use Juvéderm to enhance their features; creating a different shaped nose, refining your jawline, or if you’re looking to redefine your contours.* Juvéderm can help in smoothing your skin and creating a youthful glow. The treatments usually only take about 45 minutes (depending on the amount of areas being injected). For maximum success, clients should consider using Juvéderm alongside laser or photofacial treatments.

Restylane is a soft tissue dermal filler used to correct wrinkles and add volume to the facial and lip areas. Much like the Juvéderm treatment, Restylane uses hyaluronic sugar gels. Although similar to Juvéderm, Restylane boasts a unique cross-linking configuration that make it optimal for injections under the eyes and lip areas.

Injecting Restylane

The Restylane procedure uses a small, blunt micro-cannula that penetrates a layer of skin along the surface of the bones where the injections will take place. These injections will usually be performed under deep lines or furrows. Restylane already has lidocaine and local anesthesia mixed in, making the procedure tolerable with very little pain.

Restylane can help in smoothing your skin, rejuvenating youthfulness, and volume. To receive optimal results, it is best to use Restylane in combination with Botox, laser treatments or colour correction. Patients who receive the Restylane treatment should visit us every 6-9 months to receive a re-injection.* This helps your procedure maintain optimal tissue proportion, shape and smoothness.

Teosyal is a soft tissue filler used to improve cosmetic facial features. Using Teosyal can result in improved contours of the face and added volume in areas where needed. Alternatively, Teosyal can also be used to help smooth out fine line and wrinkles. Teosyal is made out of “sugar gels”; repeating units of hyaluronic acid sugar, a type of filler that is easily accepted by the body making it an extremely low risk procedure. Teosyal is low risk, lasts up to a year and requires absolutely no skin testing prior to the procedure – making it one of the most commonly used soft tissue fillers.*

Injecting Teosyal

The Teosyal product lines features over seven different Teosyal product types. These product types can get specific- targeting very selected areas. The largest and most highly versatile product of the Teosyal line is Teosyal Ultimate. The Ultimate product will last up to two years and is often used for larger restorations.* The Teosyal Ultimate is ideal for large-volume contour, temporal hollow, and is perfect for areas such as cheek arch and cheekbone, under the eyes and jawline. The procedure is done with a very small micro-cannula that penetrates the skin and injects the filler along the surface of the bone (when shaping the face) or directly under the skin (to correct deep lines and wrinkles). The Teosyal procedure is quick, extremely low risk, non-invasive and lasts up to 2 years; based on the product type you decide on.* Clients should revisit our location every 12-14 months to re-hydrate the treated area.*

Is Teosyal right for you

The Teosyal range is ideal for anyone who has lost some volume and proportion because of age or those who have deep lines and furrows. The Teosyal brand can target specific areas for individuals who are looking at only using filler for certain parts of their face. The Teosyal Kiss can target the lips, while Teosyal Deep Lines focuses on reducing deep lines and wrinkles*. The Teosyal line is ideal for anyone who wants larger facial proportions than they genetically have; such as a change in their nose shape, different lip definition and jawline contours. Specific products in the Teosyal line target these areas.

As we get older, it is natural for our skin to lose its soft supple shape, resilience and flexibility.

Voluma, a Juvederm-related product, is an FDA approved hyaluronic acid injectable treatment that targets volume loss in cheekbones and the chin. The gel-like formula of this product is great for filling in larger areas of the face to create a more consistent natural shape and feel. This filler is a temporary cosmetic treatment that usually lasts anywhere from a year to a year and a half.* You should feel comfortable knowing that this product has a high safety rating and is used in over 70 countries worldwide.

Voluma is great option for patients trying to avoid surgical treatment, and who don’t want to take any time off to recover. The treatment is injected past several layers of skin where there are less nerves in the body. Where the body has less nerves is where there is less pain so this procedure is a great choice if you are looking for a painless treatment. Another reason why the procedure is so gentle is because each injection package comes mixed with lidocaine. Lidocaine is an anesthetic that reduces pain and treats skin irritations by creating a numbing sensation. Both lidocaine’s effects and the deep injection make Voluma a one of a kind treatment.

There are many dermal fillers on the market. Some of them have more benefits than others and one of them is Kiss from Teosyal. What makes Teosyal Kiss different are its incremental benefits; reshaping lip contours, increasing lip volume, treating wrinkles around the mouth, supporting lip corners and re-hydrating the lips. Every time you come in for a touch up less of the product is used- making it a great temporary option.

The Procedure

The treatment usually lasts approximately 15 to 45 minutes making it is a very quick appointment. As with many dermal fillers, you will experience a little bit of swelling and inflammation. Since it is a non-surgical procedure there is very little recovery time. The product can last for up to 18 months.*

Safe for You and the Environment

Feel good knowing this Switzerland based company does their research without using animals or including animal-based ingredients in their product. The reason they don’t do animal testing is because the product is made of pure natural hyaluronic acid. They even have their needles made extra small to reduce the impact on patient inflammation.

These treatments are quick and the recovery time can be very short. Some patients may experience a little bit of swelling for up to 36 hours.
