Electrolysis FAQs

How many treatments will I need?

This will vary from one client to the next depending on a number of different factors including:

  1. The hair growth cycle
  2. The structure and quantity of hair
  3. Hormonal influences
  4. Stress levels
  5. Certain medications

Treatment sessions can last anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour or more depending on the area of the body being treated.

Are all hairs eliminated in one treatment or is regrowth to be expected?

Hairs are always at different stages of development and only the ones that are present can be worked on at your first electrolysis appointment. As the new regrowth takes place the new hairs can be handled.

Hirsutism, which is the excessive growth of hair, can involve hair ranging from vellus and fine hair to course dark hair. Sometimes it can be difficult to eliminate all of the coarse hair in one single treatment depending on the area that is being addressed. The specialist will sit down with you and discuss a treatment plan that is personally designed to meet your specific removal needs.

Will electrolysis affect my skin in any way?

Following the treatment you may experience slight redness in the area but this can vary from one client to the next. Electrolysis is now more effective and comfortable than it has ever been and your electrologist will give you post-treatment recommendations based on your skin’s reaction to the treatment.

NOTE: Individual results may vary.
