How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?
Laser hair removal targets the follicles that grow hair. Each growing hair comes from a follicle, which contains the root of the hair. The laser energy targets the pigments in the hair root and follicle, deactivating the follicle to stop producing hair. With each treatment, more follicles will be deactivated, and you will see less hair.
At Skinatomy Laser Clinic, we use three different lasers to give you the optimal hair removal experience. The Candela® GentleYag works on all skin types and tones, even sensitive skin, and can also be used for skin tightening and rejuvenation. The LightSheer® laser effectively targets the roots of the hair, speeding up the hair removal process. The Sciton ClearScan™ laser works well for larger areas of hair removal and can work on all skin types.
What is Laser Hair Removal Like?
Most treatments last from half an hour to an hour, although a small area on the face might take only a few minutes. Newer laser hair removal systems cause minimal discomfort and use cooling technology to keep the skin more comfortable during treatment. You may feel some heat or tingling during the session. Because we offer laser options even for sensitive skin, we can customize your treatment to your tolerance levels. Numbing cream can be applied to make treatment more comfortable.
