What Is Radiofrequency Skin Tightening?
The basic science behind radiofrequency skin tightening is that radiofrequency energy creates heat in the deep layers of the skin. This heat stimulates the tissue to contract and tighten which enhances the skin’s appearance while increasing the production of collagen in the process. The increased collagen production help give your skin a firmer foundation which will improve your skin’s elasticity and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles over time.
Forma is the name of the radiofrequency skin tightening system that we use at Skinatomy Laser Clinic. It can be used on forehead lines, crow’s feet, brows, bags under the eyes, and skin on the neck. It can tighten the jawline, remove folds, lift the eyes and sculpt the cheeks. Forma treatments can help to create a tighter, smoother, and more youthful look. It is safe and effective on any skin type.
Forma treatments will take approximately 30-60 minutes to complete. First, a cool gel is applied to the treatment area. A handheld device is then applied over the area for a determined amount of time. After the treatment, the gel is washed off and moisturizer applied. Patients typically receive 6 treatments that are scheduled one week apart.
