The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL)
The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is a two-part procedure that will deliver more dramatic results than the Sculptra Lift. In the first part of the procedure, liposuction is done to remove donor fat from another area of the patient’s body such as the thighs, abs, or hips. Once the donor fat is removed, it is purified and prepared for injection. The second part of the procedure involves injecting the donor fat back into the patient’s butt to create the fullness and shape that they desire.
The Brazilian Butt Lift gives more dramatic results but has a two or more week recovery time. During this time, patients are instructed to sleep on their stomachs and to be very careful how they sit or stand and how long they sit or stand. Aside from a longer recovery, some patients cannot choose the BBL if they have no donor fat that can be taken from other areas of their body.
Which Option is Best: Sculptra or BBL?
While both procedures have their merits, we feel that the Sculptra Butt Lift is the ideal option for most patients for the following reasons:
- Sculptra is non-surgical so there are no risks of infections from surgical incisions.
- Sculptra is non-invasive and has no downtime while BBL involves a recovery time of two weeks (minimum).
- Sculptra is more subtle and more natural looking so people won’t be able to tell that you’ve had work done.
- Sculptra is not permanent so if you are not pleased with the results or if trends change and you no longer desire a full bottom, you can eventually return to the bottom you started with.
The best way to decide which procedure is right for you is to have an in-office consultation with the experts at Skinatomy Laser Clinic.
