How Does CoolSculpting® Work?
During a CoolSculpting® treatment, a technician will place a gel pad on the area being treated to act as a barrier between the body and the device. The device will then be cooled to its required temperature and placed over the gel pad. It then targets the areas of fat and freezes those fat cells without damaging the surrounding organs, nerves, blood cells, and tissue. Once the fat cells have been frozen they are removed from your body through the body’s natural metabolic process. These fat cells will not return!
The length of your CoolSculpting® treatment will vary depending on the areas being treated, but generally each session is 45 minutes. Most patients will need 1 to 3 treatments to achieve their ideal results.
During the treatment, patients may experience sensations of pulling, mild pinching, intense cold, stinging, aching, or cramping. This may lead to temporary redness, swelling, bruising, or tenderness. These feelings generally subside within a day or two. Aside from this temporary discomfort, there is no downtime with CoolSculpting®. Patients can receive their treatment and resume their daily schedule of activities immediately.
What Results Will I See?
Patients can begin to see results in as little as four weeks after their first treatment as their bodies naturally flush away the unwanted fat cells. Patients will begin to notice their clothing fitting more loosely and will be able to visibly notice the treatment area looking trimmer and smaller.
